Dev Raheja, author of the books Design for Reliability and Preventing Medical Device Recalls, is an international reliability, and safety consultant for aerospace and commercial industry for over 25 years. Prior to becoming a consultant in 1982 he worked at GE Healthcare as Supervisor of Quality Assurance/Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, at Cooper Industries as Chief Engineer, and at Booz-Allen & Hamilton as Risk Management consultant for variety of industries. His clients include General Motors, Ford, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Medtronic, Harley Davidson, Carl Zeiss, Warner-Lambert, and DuPont. He has served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland for Reliability Engineering. and Mechanical Engineering Departments. Currently he teaches Design for Reliability and Design for Safety courses. He is a Fellow of American Society for Quality and recipient of its Austin Bonis Award for Reliability Education Advancement, and former chair of the Reliability Division. He has won several safety engineering Awards including the Professional Development Award, Scientific Achievement Award, and Educator-of-the-Year Award from the Internatinal System Safety Society where he serves as a Fellow.
