About the Workshop:

The first of two scheduled workshops, this event invites researchers from across University of Maryland (UMD), along with partners from state of Maryland agencies, to explore opportunities for collaboration in the area of data analytics. The primary goal of this one-day workshop is to identify how UMD researchers can better leverage large federal, state, and other databases to improve community resilience. Workshop participants will also learn new data gathering technologies that can be used to reduce risk and increase infrastructure reliability and resilience.

The discussions and conclusions from this workshop will form the backbone of a joint statement and white paper outling a strategic plan for campus-wide collaboration on data science applications related to risk, reliability, and resilience.
