Design Decision Support Laboratory (DDSL)

DDSL was founded in 1999. The labs current research areas include deterministic and stochastic (robust) design optimization; multi-attribute design decision making under uncertainty; multi-disciplinary multi-objective sensitivity analysis; reduced-order modeling; product design for market systems.

Profile

Current Research Areas

  • Deterministic and stochastic (robust) design optimization
  • Multi-attribute design decision-making under uncertainty
  • Multi-disciplinary, multi-objective sensitivity analysis
  • Reduced-order modeling
  • Product design for market systems

Location/Equipment

DDSL was founded in 1999. The DDSL facility is located in Room #0109 Engineering Lab, Building #089. The lab is equipped with numerous desktop computers, workstations, scanners and printers networked to the university's computer systems.

Software

These computers are equipped with software tools such as Matlab, Xpress, Aspen, FEM (Ansys), CFD (Fluent Gambit), and other software for design decisions and analysis.

These computers are also equipped with Matlab-based design optimization and sensitivity analysis tools, the in-house software developed by researchers in the lab with their Invention Disclosure as listed below:
