Dr. Katrina Groth has joined the Maryland Clean Cities & Communities (MDCC&C) Advisory Board, a key initiative within the U.S. Department of Energy’s national Clean Cities & Communities network. Housed within the Maryland Energy Administration, the coalition brings together leaders from across government, industry, and nonprofit sectors to advance clean transportation, reduce petroleum use, and promote the adoption of zero-emission technologies throughout the state of Maryland. The Advisory Board serves as a collaborative forum where members meet quarterly to share updates, coordinate on upcoming events, and identify opportunities for partnership in Maryland’s rapidly evolving clean-energy ecosystem.

As a nationally recognized expert in hydrogen safety, clean fueling infrastructure, and risk-informed energy systems, Dr. Groth’s insight will be an invaluable addition to the board’s work. Her applied research, leadership in hydrogen standards development, and commitment to advancing safe and resilient energy technologies align directly with MDCC&C’s mission to support sustainable and innovative transportation solutions.
