What drew you to engineering?
My fascination with the principles of applied mathematics and physics and how they can be applied in real-world situations drew me to engineering. Among the various disciplines of engineering, mechanical engineering particularly caught my attention because of its ability to address the most pressing issues of the modern world and offer practical solutions to these challenges.
What made you decide to come to UMD and the ENRE Program?
After conducting extensive research on various graduate programs, I ultimately chose the ENRE Ph.D. program at UMD for several compelling reasons. Foremost among them was UMD's exceptional reputation as a world-class research institution that places a strong emphasis on scientific innovation and discovery. I was particularly drawn to the ENRE program due to its unique interdisciplinary nature, which encompasses aspects of statistics, engineering, and applied mathematics. This blend of fields aligns perfectly with my academic background and research interests. Additionally, the program's emphasis on developing practical solutions to complex problems and real-world applications of reliability engineering strongly resonated with me.
What do you want people to know about Reliability Engineering that they may not know?
Reliability Engineering is a discipline often overlooked or misunderstood. However, it plays a crucial role in ensuring that the products we rely on in our daily lives are safe, dependable, and long-lasting. While many people assume that a product will simply work as intended, reliability engineering provides a set of tools, techniques, and capabilities that allow engineers to evaluate and optimize product performance over its entire lifespan.

One fun fact about me is that I'm a big fan of strategy-based card and board games, especially those that involve statistics and probability. I find the challenge of analyzing data and making strategic decisions based on probabilities to be both intellectually stimulating and entertaining. I'm also a food enthusiast who enjoys exploring different cultures through their cuisine. Whether it's trying new restaurants, experimenting with new recipes at home, or traveling to new places to experience local cuisine, I'm always looking out for new and exciting food adventures.
