CRR host 3rd Annual Alumni Reliability Engineering Reception
Last month, the Center for Risk and Reliability (CRR) had the pleasure of attending the 72nd annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS 2026). CRR proudly represented the Reliability Engineering Program in collaboration with the Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering (MAGE) program, connecting with colleagues, industry partners, students, and alumni from across the country. Throughout the conference, CRR faculty, staff, and affiliates showcased emerging advancements and ongoing research in areas such as decision support algorithms, hydrogen safety, and human reliability analysis, highlighting the Center’s continued leadership in the field.
UMD made a strong showing at RAMS, with more than two dozen alumni spanning over 35 years of the Reliability Engineering Program in attendance. Faculty members contributed to the conference through technical presentations, tutorials, session leadership, and panel discussions focused on developing the next generation of reliability engineering talent. CRR also engaged prospective students and collaborators while celebrating alumni achievements, including award recognitions and leadership roles within the symposium.
CRR was also able to host its third annual Alumni Reliability Reception, which brought together more than 30 UMD Reliability Engineering alumni, family members, and friends. The reception reinforced the strong and growing CRR alumni network and showed the lasting impact of the program. With an exciting generation of researchers and practitioners advancing the discipline, the future of reliability engineering is in excellent hands. CRR looks forward to continuing these conversations and reconnecting with the community at RAMS 2027.
