Dr. Modarres to receive the 2019 Tommy Thompson Award from the American Nuclear Society

Dr. Modarres was selected as the recipient of the 2019 Tommy Thompson Award by the American Nuclear Society (ANS). The award will be presented to Dr. Modarres during the ANS's annual meeting in November 2020, which will be virtual this year.

The Tommy Thompson Award is given to “recognize outstanding lifetime contributions to the field of nuclear reactor safety," and recognizes an individual "who has provided outstanding wisdom and direction to key elements of the world of nuclear safety activities."
