Dr. Mohammad Modarres will be presenting multiple talks across October 2019.

Dr. Modarres will first serve as a Keynote Speaker for IAEA's Technical Meeting on Multiunit Probabilistic Safety Assessment, in Vienna, Austria. His Keynote will examine accomplishments and future research in MUPSA Methods and Applications. The Technical Meeting runs from October 7-10.

Dr. Modarres will then present at the 3rd International Seminar on Probabilistic Methodologies for Nuclear Applications in Rockville, MD, from October 22-24, hosted by the NRC. The Seminar offers a platform for the nuclear industry and regulators to exchange and discuss on the use of probabilistic methods to enhance and complement traditional deterministic regulatory approaches, with the goal of developing more realistic and less overly conservation methodologies. Interested participants may register here.

Dr. Modarres will be presenting on, "Characterization and Quantification of Uncertainties in Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics with Applications to Probability of Detection and Sizing of Flaws and Cracks."

Following the Seminar hosted by the NRC, Dr. Modarres will be presenting at the University of Buffalo, as a guest of the Department of Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Modarres will present a seminar on "Reliability Science, Entropy and Applications to Corrosion-Fatigue."

Lastly, Dr. Modarres will lead a Congressional Briefing to the U.S. Congress on October 30 to present a summary of the April 2019 Workshop on Risk Analysis for Autonomous Vehicles. Proceedings from the workshop may be found here
